No Man's Land: Becoming Louisiana Special Living History Event

February 21, 2020 to February 22, 2020

10:00 am to 2:00 pm both days.

Two Hundred years ago, what we know as Western Louisiana was not part of Louisiana or even the United States, but it was a “Neutral Strip” or “No Man’s Land” between Spanish Texas and American Louisiana.

Join us at Fort Jesup and learn what life was like in this lawless region in the early 19th Century and how both the land and people would “Become Louisiana.”

There will be a special Flag raising ceremony each day at 10:00 a.m. with Living History demonstrations throughout the day on both days. Friday will be a special School Day Event.
